Puttaparthi is the birth place and abode of Sathya Sai Baba.It is Situated in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.Puttaparthi is located in a rocky and arid part in southwest Andhra Pradesh, quite close to the border with Karnataka. This erstwhile nondescript village where the Sai Baba was born is now equipped with schools, a state of the art health care centre, a sports complex and a university. Sai Baba spends most of the year at the ashram here. In the hot season he may retire to Kodaikkanal in Tamil Nadu or to Whitefield, near Bangalore. This small village Puttaparthi is today on the world map. And the person responsible for it is "Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba" considered as a living God by millions.

Sai Baba Ashram
The Sai baba ashram itself is a huge complex with room for thousands, with canteens, shops, a museum and library, and a vast assembly hall where Sai Baba gives darshan twice daily (6.45-7.00 AM and 3.45-4.00 PM). Queues start more than an hour before the appointed time, and a lottery decides who gets to sit near the front.
Museum
One of the of the most visited locations in the ashram is the museum, perched on a nearby hillock. The museum contains models of various temple structures including the Golden Temple of Amritsar, the Mecca mosque, etc.
Climate And Best Season
Puttaparthi has a tropical climate with hot and humid summers. The best time to visit this place is during winters, that is, from October to March.
