Secunderabad is just 8 kms away from Hyderabad city to the north of Hussain Sagar.Secunderabad is fast catching up among the tourists of the world. It does not boast of big names or wonderful monuments but Secunderabad surely offers peace and tranquility with relaxation. Secunderabad was founded in the 18 th century as a British cantonment and till date it has a large army presence. It is named after Sikander Jah, the third Nizam of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. It had its own municipality and city government until it was merged with the capital state of Hyderabad very recently.

Tourist Attractions in Secunderabad
Trimulgherry Fort - Trimulgherry Fort, situated in the cantonment area. The fort was built in 1867. A deep trench surrounds it, which is about 3 miles in length. The fort once comprised of barracks, arsenals, stables, mews, mess houses, and military offices. It has now been transformed to a Military Hospital.
Water Sports - On both sides of the tank there are sailing clubs. The one towards Secunderabad known as the Secunderabad boat club, which offers facilities for yachting and is, regarded as one of the best boat clubs in India . Annual 'Regatta' (water competitions) draws a good number of sports persons from all around the country. During the regatta competitions, the lake looks picturesque and colorful with the yatches sailing on the shimmering waters.
Hussain Sagar Lake - A one of the largest man-made lakes in Asia , located in the heart of the Hyderabad City , contributing to its immense beauty. It is a sprawling artificial lake that holds water perennially. It was built during the reign of Ibrahim Qutub Shah in 1562, on a tributary of river Musi. The unique feature of this lake it connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Trinity Church - Among the other noteworthy places a visit to the tranquil Trinity Church is must, which was once famous among the British regiments. The local church community now looks after the maintenance of the church.
Victorian Prison - There is a gloomy Military Prison from Victorian times, thankfully no longer used as a confinement quarters. The prison looks eerily grim and used to be no less than a nightmare for the prisoners.
