Lonavala is a Hill station on the western slopes of the Sahyadris in Maharashtra & is situated on a height of 625 mtrs. above sea level and is a popular gateway from Mumbai and Pune, also accessible by train & road. Rich with natural habitats the sanctuary abounds in bird life with various kinds of resident and migrant birds. One can find around 150 species of birds of resident and 37 species of migratory birds that visit the sanctuary during winters.
